Metallic Mineral Resources

• Vein deposits form when hot fluids move along fractures or bedding planes where it cools and precipitates metallic ions
• Disseminated deposits form minute masses of ores throughout the entire rock mass.

Nonmetallic Mineral Resources

There are two broad groups of nonmetallic mineral resources:

• Building Materials
  • Examples: sand, gravel, crushed rock, gypsum, cut stone
• Industrial Materials
  • Examples: fluorite, limestone, corundum, garnet, sylvite
